What is the treatment process?
You will be guided through an extensive consultation to ensure you understand the treatment. A numbing cream will be applied and after a period of about 30mins the treatment will begin with you lying down comfortably. Juverderm products also contain lidocaine (numbing medication) to help manage any discomfort during the treatment. Juvederm will be injected into the required areas either using a needle or cannula; the results are instant and you will be continually assessed during the treatment to ensure the correct results you desire. This treatment is individualised, so depending on your needs, will determine how much product is required.

Q. Will Juvederm dermal fillers be painful? A. Numbing cream will be applied for 30mins before treatment which will reduce tenderness during the treatment, the product also contains lidocaine to help with discomfort. Clients describe a mild stinging and tightness on injection, and if you are concerned about the pain, we advise that as well as having the numbing cream you take two paracetamol tablets before your appointment providing you have no contraindications. Post-treatment inflammation may occur, including mild bruising and swelling, so we advise to plan your appointment with sufficient time around any important date or event.
Q. Are Juvederm dermal fillers suitable for me? A. Dermal Filler, is an advanced volumising treatment that effectively boosts moisture levels to increase volume and plumpness to the areas in which it is injected. This remarkable treatment is suitable for individuals seeking to enhance their features with natural-looking results. There is no age limit for dermal filler – individuals from their twenties all the way up to their eighties and beyond can benefit. However, both the goal of the treatment and the anticipated outcome vary depending on your age. By utilising the power of Juvederm dermal fillers, clients can achieve a revitalised and rejuvenated appearance. For clients with extremely dehydrated skin, alternative treatments may be better suited and this will be discussed during your consultation.
Q. How is Juvederm dermal filler different from Hyaluronic Skin Boosters? A. Skin Boosters distinguishes themselves from dermal fillers in its composition and mode of action. Dermal fillers typically add volume whilst Skin Boosters are primarily a hydrating treatment dispersed across the skin. While both contain hyaluronic acid, Skin Boosters differs in viscosity from dermal fillers. Rather than having a thick consistency to add volume, Skin Boosters are more purified form of Hyaluronic acid, with a gel-like substance similar to honey. Skin Boosters are delicately injected in small quantities across the face, where it spreads beneath the skin's surface. In contrast, Juvederm Dermal Filler are only injected into the areas where increased volume is to be achieved. Unlike dermal fillers that target specific lines or folds, Skin boosters enhances entire areas. It has the ability to flow smoothly through the deeper layers of the skin, which dermal fillers typically cannot achieve.
Q. When will I see results of Juvederm Dermal Fillers? A. Results from Juvederm Dermal Fillers are instant and results can last up to two years depending on the area being treated. Results will also depend on how much volume is injected into the area; however, this will be discussed at the point of consultation to successfully manage client expectations.
Q. Are fillers reversible? A. In the rare event of dissatisfaction or complications, Juvederm fillers can be partially or fully reversed using a specific enzyme.
Q. What aftercare advice is there for dermal fillers? A. Please ask for an after-care sheet which will give important contact details and a summary of our advice. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any concerns post treatment.
Q. What are the possible risks and side effects of dermal fillers? A. There may be some tenderness, redness and swelling to the site, this is very normal, and this usually subsides within a few days. Bruising is an occasional outcome and generally resolves. It is important to let us know prior to treatment if you have important work or social engagements which may cause you embarrassment should you bruise excessively. It is recommended not to wear make up for to 24 hours post treatment in most cases. It is advisable to avoid extreme temperatures until tenderness and redness subsides. Similarly, strenuous exercise or alcohol would best be avoided for 24 hours.
Q. What is the downtime after treatment? A. There is no downtime necessary, and most patients can return to their usual routine immediately after treatment. However, immediately after, there may be small lumps on the face where the Juverderm product has been injected; the lumps are usually from the injection site so it is recommended to wait until any swelling has gone down prior to massaging any lumps.
